DUNDAS, ON – The Dundas Blues improved to 2-0 in the PJHL regular season as they defeated the Grimsby Peach Kings by the score of 4-1 Thursday night at JL Grightmire Market Street Arena.
Dundas opened the scoring 12:14 into the first period as Eric Bridgwater setup Tristian Huinink for his first goal of the regular season.
Just over two minutes later, Grimsby tied the game 1-1, as Freddie Teeple beat Dundas netminder Tyson Gustaw for his first goal of the campaign. Mason Gibson and Tyler Bush added the assists.
The Blues took a 2-1 lead 4:10 into the final period as JD McNeil netted his fifth goal of the season. Newcomers James Almeida and Clarke Bellamy collected the assists.
Dundas added two insurance markers in the final minute, with goals from Jayvin Ramjit and McNeil, his sixth goal in two games. Ryan Jormakka added the assists on both goals.
In goal, Gustaw recorded 23 saves for his first victory of the season. Grimsby starter Riley Eberhardt registered 29 saves in the loss.
Dundas is on the road for their next two contests. On Sat, Oct 9 at 7:30pm the Blues take on Hagersville and next Wed, Oct 13 at 7:30pm they travel to Glanbrook.
The Blues next home game is Thu, Oct 14 when the Port Dover Sailors come to town. Game time is 7:30pm at the JL Grightmire Market Street Arena.
