DUNNVILE, ON – The Dundas Blues opened the PJHL regular season with a 4-1 road victory over the Dunnville Mudcats Friday night at the Dunnville Memorial Arena.
Dundas opened the scoring with 1:36 remaining in the opening period as Eric Semiwolos setup JD McNeil for his first goal of the season.
Dunnville tied the game 1-1, three minutes into the second period, as Harrison Reinhardt found Jack MacDonald who beat Blues rookie starter Matt Watson.
Five minutes later McNeil would record his second goal of the night with Jayvin Ramjit adding the assist to make it 2-1.
McNeil would give the Blues a 3-1 lead with 6:31 left in regulation as he added his third goal of the game. Daniel DuBois and Riley Zimmerman added the assists.
With 41 seconds left on the clock, McNeil added an empty netter for the amazing four-goal performance in the season opener.
In goal, Watson recorded the victory collecting 18 saves. Dunnville starter Austin Davison registered 27 saves in the loss.
The Dundas Blues next home game is Thursday, October 7th at 7:30pm when they host the Grimsby Peach Kings in their PJHL regular season homeopener at JL Grightmire Market Arena.
